​​​​​Jan Jonsson is a (now retired) professor in Real-Time Systems at Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden.


As a retiree he looks forward to finally get ample time to play pedal steel and Telecaster guitars, record yet another music album, repair vacuum tube amplifiers and take photos using vintage cameras.


During his 50 years as an aspiring musician he has been a member in several bands, such as White Label, Novus, Crishcraft, Vintage Vibe,
​Steel 'n Blues, The Western Toneflyers, and Flat Five Society.


As a pedal steel guitar player he has performed live at numerous public events. In the period 2004-2010 he performed at the major Scandinavian country and blues festivals, and also toured in Sweden with guitarist Redd Volkaert. In 2011 he performed in the Jazz Room at the International Steel Guitar Convention in St Louis, USA. 


He has released two solo albums with pedal steel guitar music: Steel Reflections (2009) and Waltz for Elma (2015).
